A Regency inlaid flame mahogany sideboard, dating to circa 1811–1820, with brass handles and six tapering reeded legs with ring-turned collars, terminating in carved lion paw feet.

The sideboard is decorated throughout with subtle ebony stringing and flame mahogany veneers. It has a broad central serving surface, with a raised upper section running around the rear and sides. This upper section incorporates two sliding doors to the front, providing additional storage.

The base is fitted with one drawer to each side pedestal and three drawers across the centre. The central drawers are set between the reeded supports and follow the curved shape of the front.

A sideboard was traditionally designed for the dining room, providing a long surface for serving food and drinks, together with drawers and cupboards for storing cutlery, table linen and other dining items.

Moving Notes

This piece separates into two sections for movement, with the upper section lifting away from the base. The top section does not divide further and remains a long piece, so please check all measurements carefully against doorways, staircases and access points before delivery.
