Here we have a Queen Anne, Circa 1710 (315 Years old), Walnut Chest of Drawers. This character piece features a standout herringbone inlay on every drawer and has original brass handles and key inscriptions on all drawers each with engraved detailing.
The two pairs of smaller drawers have no key inscriptions and this is because they have a secret method to opening them, which is a metal lever underneath which you push to unlock the drawer.
This piece was formerly a chest on stand which has been adapted in the early 19th century (1800-1830s) converting the base to bracket feet, this would be presumably because of the original tall legs of chest on stands may have broken at the time. But this has turned this chest into a more unique, structurally stronger and beautiful chest of drawers on bracket feet.
