A mid-19th century Victorian Windsor armchair, constructed principally from yew wood, with an elm seat and elm rear legs.
The chair has a high horseshoe-shaped back with stick uprights and a pierced fret carved back splat. The shaped arms are supported by turned uprights, and the chair stands on turned legs united by an H-form stretcher.
A practical and comfortable example of English country furniture, suitable as a fireside, library or occasional chair.
