A Georgian, George III, walnut side chair in the Chinese Chippendale style, dating from the late 18th century.

The chair has a shaped crest rail above an elaborately carved and pierced openwork back, combining pierced geometric patterns with scrolling foliage, carved pendant motifs and a central foliate flourish. It has a later floral upholstered seat and stands on straight front legs with splayed rear legs, the inner edges chamfered.
